What does it mean to be baptized?
Baptism is an ordinance instituted by God for all believers. While baptism is not part of salvation, it is an acknowledgment and public announcement of salvation. A believer gets baptized by full-immersion under the water to acknowledge the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In doing this, we are not only following the example set by Christ himself, but we are telling our friends, family and church-family that we intend to follow Christ, to the best of our ability, for the rest of our lives. Allowing ourselves to be open, honest and vulnerable with God and others allows us to Grow in Faith, Find Real Community and Live with Purpose in our Christian life!
